AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: [ FE ]) President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony J. Alexander will share his views on U.S. energy policy as a panelist at a West Virginia University energy forum being held this morning.

Today's roundtable, A Forum Looking at America's Energy Roadmap to 2050, will be convened by U.S. Rep. David B. McKinley, U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin and West Virginia University President Dr. James B. Clements.  Mr. Alexander will discuss the importance of a long-term, comprehensive energy policy that ensures regulatory certainty for private investment; capitalizes on our nation's assets and natural resources; and recognizes regional differences, such as geography and infrastructure.      

The forum is being held in Assembly Room 101-A&B at the National Research Center for Coal and Energy (NRCCE) on the West Virginia University campus.
