Generating Units of Coal-Fired and Wind Power Projects Completed Trial Run
BEIJING, Feb. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Huaneng Power International, Inc. ("HPI", the "Company") (NYSE: [ HNP ]; HKEx:902; SSE:600011) announced today that one 600MW coal-fired generating unit (Unit 2) of Shanxi Huaneng Zuoquan Power Plant (of which the Company owns 80% equity interest) has completed a trial run recently. Phase I of Huaneng's Jiuquan Wind Power Project (which is located in Gansu Province and wholly owned by the Company) with a total generation capacity of 501.5MW had also completed a trial run at the end of 2011.
In aggregate, the above increased the Company's controlled generation capacity and equity-based generation capacity by 1,101.5MW and 981.5MW, respectively. Accordingly, the Company's total controlled generation capacity has increased from 57,977MW to 59,078.5MW, and total equity-based generation capacity has increased from 53,185.9MW to 54,167.4MW.
