NEW YORK--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Lazard Ltd (NYSE: LAZ) announced today that Richard Whitney has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of the Chemicals Group, Financial Advisory, effective immediately. Based in New York, Mr. Whitney was previously Global Co-Head of Chemicals at Credit Suisse.

Mr. Whitney will co-lead Lazarda™s Chemicals Group alongside Alasdair Nisbet in London. He served in his prior role at Credit Suisse for more than ten years, and previously advised on transactions in industrials. He began his banking career at Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette Securities in 1986.
