At the Companya™s recent annual shareholder meeting held on May 25, 2011, shareholders voted anoa on BioMeda™s say on pay provision. The investigation concerns whether certain senior officers and executives of BioMed were awarded salaries, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation that were excessive or unwarranted based on BioMeda™s performance.
Specifically, BioMeda™s CEO compensation rose from $4.07 million in 2009 to $5.03 million in 2010 and the Companya™s total compensation rose from $8.12 million to $11.12 million. Executive pay was increased despite the fact that the Companya™s net income decreased from approximately $58.7 million to $38.8 million from 2009 to 2010.
