NORTHERN PROPERTY REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST/ NORSERCO INC. ANNOUNCE ADJOURNMENT OF ANNUAL MEETINGS

CALGARY, May 31, 2011 /CNW/ - Northern Property Real Estate Investment Trust (the "REIT") and NorSerCo Inc. ("NorSerCo", and together with the REIT, "NPR") (TSX: NPR.UN) announced today that their respective Annual Meetings for 2011 have both been adjourned to Tuesday, June 14, 2011.

The reason for the adjournment is that an intermediary incorrectly printed the voting instruction form which was distributed to the holders of approximately two thirds of NPR's outstanding stapled units. The incorrect voting forms provided no opportunity for stapled unitholders to cast votes for the appointment of NorSerCo's Auditors and Directors. A corrected voting instruction form providing this opportunity has been circulated to the affected stapled unitholders. Both of the Annual Meetings will be reconvened on June 14, 2011 to allow all stapled unitholders the opportunity to vote on all of the matters that will be considered at these meetings.

NPR regrets any inconvenience these adjournments may have caused.

The Annual Meeting for the REIT will reconvene on June 14, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. (Mountain Daylight time) at The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, TELUS Rooms 108, 109, 120 Ninth Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. The Annual General Meeting for NorSerCo will reconvene on June 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. (Mountain Daylight time) at the same location.
