GREENWICH, Conn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE: WRB) today announced the appointment of Nelson Tavares to the newly created office of senior vice president a" claims. Mr. Tavaresa™ appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Tavares has over 20 years of experience in the property casualty insurance industry, having served as a senior executive at a leading international insurance company where he was the global head of large and complex claims. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Multinational Corporate Studies from Upsala College.
