CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 14, 2011) - Poynt Corporation ("Poynt Corp." or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:PYN), a leading provider of mobile local search services, today announced a new gas widget feature for Poynt for Android, further taking advantage of the unique capabilities of the Android platform. The Company also announces they will showcase their app at the Android stand at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Feb 14 – 17, 2011.

Poynt is a mobile local search application that uses GPS or cell-site location to connect over five million users to the businesses, movies, retailers, restaurants, gas stations, people, weather and events in their local area. Once users have found what they are searching for, Poynt allows users to interact with the listing through options to call the business, get directions, send details to their contacts, view movie trailers and restaurant reviews, and book dining reservations and movie tickets.

Poynt for Android recently added a gas widget to complement the already popular movie widget. The gas widget allows users to search for the nine best gas prices in their local area directly from their homescreen, making the App even more timesaving and convenient.

"We have always viewed device integration as integral to the success of the Poynt App," said Andrew Osis, CEO, Poynt Corp. "When consumers can't tell where the device ends and the App begins, we know we have created an application consumers will want to use."

The Poynt app focuses on deep device integration and an excellent user experience, and will be showcased at the Android booth at Mobile World Congress. GSMA's Mobile World Congress is one of the must-attend annual gatherings of the mobile industry. With over 50,000 senior mobile leaders attending from 200 countries, Mobile World Congress helps set the stage for the coming year of transformation in mobile technology. This year's conference features an 'App Planet' and an App Developer's Conference highlighting the growing influence of mobile applications in the mobile technology field.
