GOF Announces Annual Meeting Date

LISLE, Ill.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--(NYSE: [ GOF ]) [ Claymore/Guggenheim Strategic Opportunities Fund ] (the aFunda), announced today that the Fund intends to hold its annual meeting of shareholders on Monday, March 7, 2011. Because the Annual Meeting will be held more than 30 days from the date previously announced for the annual meeting of shareholders, the deadlines for shareholder proposals have been extended. Shareholder proposals intended for inclusion in the Fund's proxy statement in connection with the Annual Meeting pursuant to Rule 14a-8 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended (the aExchange Acta), must be received by the Fund at the Fund's principal executive offices by Thursday, November 18, 2010. Proposals made outside of Rule 14a-8 under the Exchange Act must be submitted, in accordance with the notice requirements of the Fund's By-Laws, not earlier than Sunday, November 7, 2010 nor later than the close of business on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 (which is also the date after which shareholder nominations and proposals made outside of Rule 14a-8 under the Exchange Act would not be considered atimelya within the meaning of Rule 14a-4(c) under the Exchange Act).
