NEWARK, NJ--(Marketwire - December 10, 2008) - The Board of Directors of The Asia Pacific Fund, Inc. (NYSE: [ APB ]) has declared a dividend of $0.044 per share of ordinary income and a distribution of $5.057 per share of long-term capital gains. The distributions are payable on January 12, 2009, to shareholders of record on December 29, 2008 (ex-date December 26, 2008).

These distributions are to be paid in cash, except in the case of shareholders who have elected to participate in the dividend reinvestment plan.
