WOODSTOCK, Minn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Juhl Wind Inc. (OTCBB: JUHL), the Leader in Community Wind Power, today announced that it recently entered into a development agreement with Winona County Minnesota to design and build a 2 MW wind system planned to be cited near Altura, MN. The project will cost approximately $3.6 million and is planned to be completed by the end of the second quarter, 2009.

"We are very excited about entering this full development agreement with Winona County," stated Dan Juhl, CEO of Juhl Wind. "This project represents a rapidly growing area of our business where we develop wind systems for local communities, and institutions like hospitals, colleges and universities. These customers recognize that we have the knowledge and capabilities to get these smaller projects built quickly and put into service.

"Our growing portfolio of smaller to medium wind farms and on-site systems is helping to separate Juhl Wind from others in the industry," continued Dan Juhl. "We believe customers with projects in the range of 3 to 50 MWs know that no other entity has the experience we have actually getting smaller wind farms developed, financed and built."

"The addition of the Winona County project brings our total announced project count to 21 as of today," added John Mitola, President of Juhl Wind. "These 21 projects under various phases of development currently total approximately 432 megawatts of wind power and over $950 million in project development. We like smaller wind farms and on-site projects because every aspect of the project moves faster including the completion of power purchase agreements, utility interconnections, financing and construction. Unlike the larger wind projects, some of whose development has been protracted as of late, Juhl Wind's unique project financing model allows for a more proficient execution of the development and completion of each property. Since we have a growing collection of these projects, we expect they will have a very significant impact on revenue growth in 2009 and beyond."
