Israeli war spending in Gaza, Lebanon tops $30 billion in 2024 -Finance Ministry

Israel spent 112 billion shekels ($31 billion) on its military conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon in 2024, the Finance Ministry said in a report on Monday.
The Israeli Finance Ministry has reported that the cost of the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Lebanon has exceeded $30 billion in 2024. This figure includes expenses for military operations, compensation for damages, and support for reservists and their families. The war, which began with a significant escalation on October 7, has led to a sharp increase in government spending, with daily costs reaching around $270 million. The Finance Ministry has also noted that these expenses are putting considerable strain on Israel's economy, prompting discussions on potential budget cuts and increased borrowing to manage the financial burden.
