  • The credit ratings agency Moody's said on Wednesday that it deemed the outlook for banking sectors in France, Germany, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands as "stable", an improvement from an early "negative" outlook.

Moody's has upgraded its outlook for banks in France, Germany, and several other countries to stable from negative, citing an improved operating environment expected in 2025. This shift is attributed to a better economic outlook, with anticipated growth in GDP, lower inflation, and a decrease in interest rates. The rating agency highlighted that banks in these regions are likely to benefit from a more favorable economic climate, which would enhance their profitability and asset quality. However, Moody's also noted that while the outlook has improved, challenges such as high interest rates in the near term and potential asset quality issues in some sectors remain. The stable outlook reflects a balanced view of the risks and opportunities facing the banking sector in these countries.
