  • Brazilian state-run lender Banco do Brasil expects its adjusted net profit this year to be between 37 billion reais ($6.5 billion) and 41 billion reais ($7.2 billion), it said on Wednesday, while analysts in a LSEG poll estimated 39.

Banco do Brasil, Brazil's largest state-controlled bank, has forecasted its adjusted net profit for 2025 to be between 65 billion and 72 billion reais ($13.1 billion to $14.5 billion). This projection was shared during an event in Sao Paulo where the bank also outlined its strategic plan for the next three years. The bank aims to achieve this profit by focusing on expanding its loan portfolio, enhancing digital services, and improving customer experience. Additionally, Banco do Brasil plans to increase its return on equity to between 15% and 18% by 2025, up from 13.3% in 2022, while also managing to keep its cost-to-income ratio below 30%. The bank's strategy includes a significant push towards sustainability, with goals to reduce its carbon footprint and increase financing for green projects.
