Norway's central bank said on Tuesday it had received 82 applications for the position of CEO of the country's vast sovereign wealth fund.
The CEO position at Norway's $1.6 trillion sovereign wealth fund, Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), has attracted 82 applicants following the announcement that current CEO Nicolai Tangen would seek reappointment. The application period closed on February 18, 2025, with Tangen, who has been in the role since 2020, being one of the applicants. The fund, which manages the Norwegian government's revenues from oil and gas, is the world's largest sovereign wealth fund. The selection process for the CEO will involve interviews conducted by a committee, with the final decision resting with the central bank's board, aiming to appoint a new CEO by the end of 2025.
