British American Tobacco is optimistic U.S. President Donald Trump's new administration can tackle a vast market for illegal vapes in the United States, Chief Executive Tadeu Marocco said on Thursday.
British American Tobacco (BAT) is hopeful that the Trump administration will address the issue of illicit disposable vapes in the U.S., according to CEO Tadeu Marroco. Speaking at a press conference, Marroco highlighted the significant problem of illegal vapes, which he claims are not only undercutting legal vape products but also contributing to youth vaping. He expressed optimism that with a potential change in administration, there could be a more favorable regulatory environment to tackle this issue. Marroco also mentioned that BAT is preparing for a future where traditional smoking declines, focusing on alternative nicotine products like vapes, but the prevalence of illegal vapes poses a challenge to their strategy.
