The Kenyan Cabinet, chaired by President William Ruto, approved the KSh 4.2 trillion 2025/26 budget proposal and a KSh 344 billion supplementary budget.

The Kenyan Cabinet, under President William Ruto, has approved a KSh 4.2 trillion budget proposal for the fiscal year 2024/2025. This budget, which is an increase from the previous year's KSh 3.9 trillion, aims to address economic challenges and fund key government initiatives. It includes allocations for recurrent expenditure, development projects, and debt repayment. The budget proposal will now be presented to the National Assembly for further scrutiny and approval. Key focuses of the budget include enhancing agricultural productivity, improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure, as well as implementing measures to reduce the cost of living and stimulate economic growth. The government plans to finance this budget through a combination of tax revenues, borrowing, and grants.
