Finance Minister Unveils 6 New Schemes, Raises Kisan Credit Card Limit

  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday announced six new schemes and increased the subsidised Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan limit to Rs 7 lakh from Rs 5 lakh.

The Finance Minister unveiled six new schemes in the Budget 2025, focusing on enhancing agricultural support and rural development. Key highlights include raising the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) limit from Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, aiming to provide farmers with greater access to affordable credit. Additionally, the government introduced the 'Kisan Samriddhi Yojana' to boost agricultural productivity through technology and modern farming practices. Other initiatives include the 'Gramin Aajeevika Mission' for rural livelihood enhancement, 'Sajeevani' for healthcare in rural areas, 'Ujala' for solar energy in villages, and 'Jal Jeevan Hariyali' for water conservation. These schemes are part of a broader strategy to uplift rural economies, improve infrastructure, and ensure sustainable development.
