Yaletown Capital (TSX VENTURE:YCC) Announces Innovative New Home IP Networks
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 25, 2012) - Yaletown Capital (TSX VENTURE:YCC) and its technology partners today announce the development of a revolutionary new suite of Home IP Network Services. As a more versatile alternative to the present dedicated phone, CEO Douglas Kind describes a multi-services home network, which is a combination of voice (home phone), live texting, video (Internet TV), message queuing, security, and home door cam as well as appliance-compatible connectivity.
Yaletown Capital's President & CEO, Douglas Kind, said, "The time has come to drop obsolete analogue phone lines as the primary method of communicating in our homes. The home phone needs to adopt the Smartphone services model from this point forward."
IP (Internet Protocol) functionally will also allow tablets and other display-capable electronics to access and interact with the IP network software. The suite of services is to be priced at less than what North American families typically pay for monthly home phone service. Subscribers receive up to 4 home phone lines that seamlessly integrate with family wireless smartphones, allowing users to answer home phone lines from their smartphones.
More than half of North Americans still have landlines, which use outdated analogue technology because there previously has not been a practical, cost effective alternative. Yaletown Capital describes the home IP network as a logical replacement of the old systems, as consumers enter into a homogenous world of digital communications that wireless users already take for granted.
Yaletown Capital feels that these integrated home IP services will provide more value to consumers at less cost. Mr. Kind went on to say, "These services will change how people think about that old 10-digit dialed number, or the web. There's no web lookup as well as no need to choose web or telephone as the home network comes with a mini web portal that allows callers to select a specific individual with one touch when calling in. It also allows family members to view security cameras and other devices with ease." The Home IP Network Services are extensions of the wireless services announced by Yaletown Capital last week.
The Home IP Network Services will be compatible with Android, iPhone and other current smartphone devices. Demonstration products will be available in October, with first customer availability in Q1 2013. The company expects low-cost home phones by mid 2013 to provide the functionality at a relatively low cost to consumers.
