MCKINNEY, Texas, Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Torchmark Corporation (NYSE: [ TMK ]) announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly dividend of $.15 per share on all of the outstanding common stock of the Company held of record as of the close of business of the Company's transfer agent on October 5, 2012.  The dividend will be paid on November 1, 2012.

Torchmark also announced that Co-CEOs Gary Coleman and Larry Hutchison have been elected to Torchmark's Board of Directors effective August 1, 2012. Coleman and Hutchison, who were appointed as Co-CEOs effective June 1, 2012, will stand for re-election along with all other Torchmark directors, at the annual shareholders' meeting on April 25, 2013.
