EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 26, 2012) - Tim Melton, Executive Chairman of Melcor Developments Ltd. (TSX:MRD) is pleased to announce that Brian Baker will be appointed President and Chief Operating Officer effective June 1, 2012. Brian will succeed Ralph Young, who will continue as Chief Executive Officer.

Brian started his career with Melcor in 1997 as a Development Manager in the Community Development division. He became Vice President of the newly formed Property Development division in April 2002, and was promoted to COO in June 2011. Brian has taken on progressively greater responsibility and has demonstrated strong operational and leadership skills. Brian will be responsible for Melcor's growth, operating excellence and financial performance. He will continue to have direct responsibility for Melcor's operating divisions: Community Development, Property Development, Investment Properties and Recreation Properties.
