American Campus Communities Announces Joe Macchione Leaving Board of Directors

AUSTIN, Texas--([ ])--American Campus Communities, Inc. (NYSE:ACC), the nation's largest owner and manager of high-quality student housing properties, today announced Joseph M. Macchione declined to stand for re-election to the board of directors due to time demands of his business activities. At the time of the Annual Meeting of Stockholders scheduled to be held on May 3, 2012, the size of the board will be reduced to six members, although the board may determine to add one or more additional members to the board in the future.
