WGL Holdings, Inc. Announces New Head of Investor Relations

WASHINGTON--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--WGL Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:WGL) announced today that Douglas Bonawitz has been selected to lead the companya™s investor relations activities, effective Feb. 1, 2011. Bonawitz joined WGL Holdings in January as Division Head, Investor Relations and Operational Risk Assessment, and will be responsible for communicating the companya™s strategy, financial and operational performance to the financial community and general investing public. He will also have responsibility for the operational risk assessment activities which include documenting, testing and disclosure requirements associated with the companya™s compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

Bonawitz will replace Robert Dennis, who retired on Feb. 1, 2011, after holding various director-level positions at WGL Holdings and Washington Gas since 2003.

Prior to joining WGL Holdings, Bonawitz held various positions of increasing responsibility over 15 years with Whirlpool Corporation, including a controllership position and Chief Financial Officer for Whirlpool Mexico. He began his career with Ford Motor Company.

Bonawitz earned a BA in Economics from Michigan State University and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
