Constellation Energy Employees to Help Construct 11 Homes on 1/11/11 with Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--More than 200 Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) employees attending the companya™s annual sales meeting in San Antonio will participate in the construction of 11 energy efficient homes being developed by Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio. Constellation Energy also will sponsor the energy efficiency materials utilized in the homes as part of the a1.11.11 Build.a

The energy efficient materials utilized in the San Antonio homes include: roof decking with a radiant barrier; ENERGY STAR-rated, light colored heat resistant shingles; fiber cement siding; ENERGY STAR-rated Low-E insulated glass windows; insulation; insulated exterior doors; low maintenance water saving landscaping; energy efficient gas direct vent furnaces; and ENERGY STAR- rated wall air conditioning units.

The 1.11.11 Build event is part of a larger relationship between Constellation Energy and regional Habitat for Humanity partners. Constellation Energy is supporting more than 140 energy efficient Habitat homes through six regional Habitat relationships, to create critical energy savings and affordability forlimited income families. In each market, Constellation Energy is providing $5,000 per home for energy efficiency measures and LEED upgrades.

In San Antonio, the volunteers will work alongside some of the families who will eventually call these Habitat houses ahome.a

Kagan noted that Constellation Energy will supply Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates from wind energy facilities to match 100 percent of the electricity used at the Westin Riverwalk during the companya™s meeting in San Antonio this week. Constellation Energy has more than 300 employees in Texas and approximately 10,000 employees nationwide. Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio was a natural fit for the groupa™s volunteer project given Constellation Energya™s national relationship with the organization and the San Antonio chaptera™s rating by the San Antonio Business Journal as the 5th largest San Antonio Green Residential Builder in 2010 and the only non profit on the list.

About Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio

Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio is an ecumenical, Christian organization working with hardworking families in need to build simple, decent and affordable homes without interest or profit. Habitat families are required to put in a minimum of 300 hours of asweat equity,a meaning they help build their own home, the homes of their neighbors and they attend home ownership education classes. In turn, they purchase their homes on a 0% interest, 20-year mortgage. Their payments average about $400 a month, or about half the fair market rent for a two-bedroom apartment in the city. HFHSA plans to build 55 homes in 2011.
