Kathryn Mikells Elected To The Hartforda?s Board Of Directors

Mikells will join Nalco, the worlda™s largest sustainability services company focused on industrial water, energy and air applications, water treatment and process improvement, as executive vice president and chief financial officer later this month. Prior to being recently named executive vice president and CFO of Nalco, she was executive vice president and chief financial officer for United Airlinesa™ parent company, UAL Corporation, where she was one of the chief architects of the companya™s merger with Continental Airlines. Mikells joined United in 1994 and served in finance roles of increasing responsibility, including vice president and treasurer, vice president of Investor Relations, and director of corporate planning, among others.
Before joining United, Mikells spent six years in the financial services sector, including positions at GE Capitala™s Corporate Finance Group, Household International and Canadian Imperial Bank.
Mikells holds a mastera™s degree in business from the University of Chicago and a bachelora™s degree in finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Mikells serves on the board of directors of the Weitz Company, a national construction firm founded in 1855.
