JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--The St. Joe Company (NYSE:JOE), one of Florida's largest real estate development companies and Northwest Florida's largest private landowner, today announced that as part of its long-term succession plans, effective January 1, 2010, the following individuals have been promoted: Reece Alford as Senior Vice President, Corporate Counsel and Secretary; Ken Borick as Senior Vice President, Real Estate Counsel; David Childers as Vice President – Finance and Corporate Treasurer; and Janna Connolly as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.

Mr. Alford came to St. Joe in 2005 from the Birmingham law firm of Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. where he was a partner with a practice in corporate law. As Senior Vice President, Corporate Counsel and Secretary, Mr. Alford will be responsible for corporate level legal matters including securities, compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property and strategic transactions for the Company. Mr. Alford earned his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Auburn University.

Mr. Borick has more than twenty years experience in real estate law and joined St. Joe in September, 2000. Mr. Borick is currently focused on real estate transactions including brokerage agreements, ground leases, joint ventures and the establishment and maintenance of HOA and CDD entities. As Senior Vice President, Real Estate Counsel, Mr. Borick will assume additional responsibilities related to the Company's residential and commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Borick earned his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Management from Clemson University.

Mr. Childers has more than seventeen years of experience in treasury, investments, corporate finance, capital markets and investor relations. He joined St. Joe in 1995 as Investment Manager and subsequently became responsible for the treasury and investor relations functions. Most recently, Mr. Childers held the position of Vice President – Finance and Assistant Treasurer, developing and executing St. Joe's investor relations program and building the Company's relationships with the banking community. As Vice President – Finance and Corporate Treasurer, he will be responsible for the management of the Company's capital structure, credit profile and investor relations strategies. Mr. Childers is a graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations.

Ms. Connolly has held progressively senior accounting positions at St. Joe for over 13 years. As Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, Ms. Connolly will continue to oversee all accounting, tax and financial reporting for the Company, and will now assume responsibility for the budgeting, forecasting and planning functions as well. Ms. Connolly graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and earned her MBA from the University of North Florida. Ms. Connolly is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida.
