










Breakwater Resources Ltd. Provides Update on Myra Falls

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2009) - Breakwater Resources Ltd. (TSX:BWR)(TSX:BWR.WT.A) -
On November 4, 2009 a fire occurred in the electrical switch gear for the production hoist, the switch gear was damaged resulting in the production hoist being unusable. Site management has developed a plan to have a new electrical switch gear manufactured and delivered to the site. The time to complete the manufacture, transportation and installation of the electrical switch gear is currently estimated at approximately 10 days. Should the time to effect the repairs change significantly we will provide an update at that time.
In addition, management of NVI Mining Ltd. (owner of the Myra Falls mine and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Breakwater Resources Ltd.) and the CAW Local Negotiating Committee, representing hourly employees at Myra Falls, reached a tentative agreement today, which agreement will be put to the members of Local 3019 for ratification later this week.
Breakwater is a mining, exploration and development company which produces and sells zinc, copper, lead and gold concentrates to customers around the world. The Company's concentrate production is derived from three mines in Chile, Honduras and Canada. Breakwater's Langlois mine in Quebec, Canada is currently on temporary care and maintenance.
