HUD signs agreement with South Korean housing finance agency
HUD and Ginnie Mae signed an MOU with a South Korean housing finance authority, with the goal of increasing investment in U.S. agency MBS.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC) to enhance cooperation in the mortgage-backed securities market. This agreement, signed by HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge and KHFC President and CEO Seung-duk Lee, aims to facilitate the exchange of information and expertise between the two entities. The MOU seeks to promote the development of affordable housing finance and improve the efficiency of mortgage markets in both countries. This collaboration is expected to benefit from the sharing of best practices and innovative approaches in housing finance, ultimately supporting broader access to affordable housing.
