Sources tell ESPN that agents reached out to at least three players regarding their knowledge of financial dealings related to MLBPA's OneTeam partnership.
The FBI is investigating the financial dealings of the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) and its partnership with a firm called Big League Advantage (BLA), focusing on potential fraud and embezzlement. The probe, which began in 2022, involves the seizure of electronic devices from MLBPA's former executive director Tony Clark and deputy director Xavier James, as well as the questioning of current executive director Bruce Meyer. The investigation centers on BLA's management of group licensing revenue, with allegations that BLA's owner, former MLBPA executive director Harry Marino, misappropriated funds. The MLBPA has been cooperating with the investigation, and the union's leadership has been informed about the ongoing probe.
