A new film finance and production venture between Australia and India, named AIFP (Australia India Film Partnership), was announced at the Cannes Film Festival. This partnership aims to fund a slate of upcoming feature films, with the first project being the action-adventure film "The Last Daughter" directed by Brenda Matthews and Nathaniel Schmidt. The venture is a collaboration between Indian production company Annapurna Films and Australian production company Firefly Films, with the goal of fostering creative and commercial collaborations between the two countries' film industries.
