Nu Holdings Ltd., the parent company of Nubank, is contemplating relocating its domicile to Britain as part of its strategy to expand into the U.S. market by 2025, according to CEO David Velez. This move is aimed at simplifying the company's corporate structure and enhancing its appeal to U.S. investors. Velez highlighted that the U.S. represents a significant opportunity for growth, especially given the dissatisfaction among American consumers with traditional banking services. He also mentioned that Nubank, which has already established a presence in Mexico and Colombia, sees potential in offering its digital banking services in the U.S., where it could leverage its experience in serving underbanked populations. However, Velez noted that any decision on domicile change would be carefully considered, with no immediate plans to shift from its current base in Brazil.
