President William Ruto of Kenya has been actively involved in securing multi-billion-dollar business deals in 2024 to bolster the country's economy. Key among these deals include a $1.5 billion agreement with the United States for infrastructure development, focusing on roads, bridges, and ports. Another significant deal is with the United Arab Emirates, valued at $1.2 billion, aimed at enhancing Kenya's digital infrastructure and cybersecurity. Ruto also inked a $1 billion deal with China for the expansion of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and other transport projects. Additionally, a $800 million agreement with France was signed to support renewable energy projects, particularly geothermal and solar power. A $600 million deal with Japan focuses on water and sanitation improvements, while a $500 million investment from Germany targets vocational training and technical education. Lastly, a $400 million partnership with South Korea was established to advance Kenya's technology sector, including smart city initiatives and ICT development. These deals reflect Ruto's strategy to diversify economic partnerships and drive growth through infrastructure, technology, and sustainable energy.
