Luigi Mangione, a former executive at UnitedHealthCare, has filed a lawsuit against the company's CEO, Andrew Witty, and other top executives, alleging they engaged in a scheme to defraud the government. Mangione claims he was fired after he raised concerns about the company's practices, which included overbilling for services and misrepresenting financial data to investors. The lawsuit accuses UnitedHealthCare of violating federal and state false claims acts, as well as securities laws. Mangione is seeking damages for wrongful termination, retaliation, and emotional distress, among other claims. The case highlights issues of corporate governance and ethical practices within one of the largest health insurance providers in the U.S.
