  • The Delhi High Court will hear on December 9 a plea by the city's opposition leaders seeking a direction to place Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports related to liquor duty, pollution and finance before the Assembly.

The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear a plea from BJP MLAs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Om Prakash Sharma on December 2, 2024, who are seeking the release of CAG reports in the Delhi Assembly. The MLAs argue that the non-presentation of these reports, which include financial audits of the Delhi government, violates constitutional norms and deprives the public of crucial financial oversight information. They have requested the court to direct the Delhi Assembly Speaker to present these reports and to ensure that future reports are tabled promptly. The plea also highlights that the absence of these reports hampers the MLAs' ability to effectively scrutinize government expenditure and policy implementation.
