WINCHESTER, Ky.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--The board of directors of Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: DGAS), at a meeting held August 23, 2012, authorized a quarterly stock dividend of eighteen cents ($.18) per share to be paid September15, 2012 to all common shareholders of record as of August 31, 2012.

The company distributed a 2 for 1 stock split on May 1, 2012. This quarterly dividend applies to all the split shares, which are double the number of shares that were outstanding prior to the May 1 stock split.
