SAN DIEGO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Military families in San Diego got a boost from U.S.Bank following a month-long donation drive for school supplies that resulted in enough supplies to get more than 800 children off to a good start in school this year.

Fourteen U.S. Bank employees distributed backpacks and school supplies on Saturday, Aug. 4, and Sunday, Aug. 5, at the National Guard Armory in National City. U.S. Bank held the drive in July at its San Diego branches as part of Operation Homefrontas Back to School Brigade. Employees collected 20 large bins of supplies and more than $500 in monetary donations.

Operation Homefrontas Back to School program helps alleviate the stress surrounding shopping for essential school supplies. Children received supplies at multiple distribution sites across all of San Diego where their families will be able to come together and network with other military families.
