FirstEnergy Names Carl Bridenbaugh Vice President of Transmission
AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy (NYSE: [ FE ]) today announced that Carl J. Bridenbaugh, formerly director of Transmission Planning and Support, has been named vice president of Transmission. In this role, he is responsible for transmission operations, system planning and protection, line and substation maintenance and project management and design.

Bridenbaugh also serves as FirstEnergy's liaison with transmission organizations such as North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), PJM Interconnection, Inc. (PJM) and ReliabilityFirst.
"Carl's more than 24 years' experience with FirstEnergy's transmission system operations will benefit the company as we continue transmission system reliability enhancements and maintain operational excellence," said Charles E. Jones, Jr., senior vice president and president of FirstEnergy Utilities.
Bridenbaugh joined the company in 1988 as a Transmission Planning engineer with Ohio Edison. He has also served as manager of Transmission Planning and director of Transmission Operations for FirstEnergy.
Bridenbaugh earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy and a master's of science degree in electrical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York. He is a registered professional engineer in Ohio.
