NEW YORK, Dec. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AllianceBernstein National Municipal Income Fund, Inc. (NYSE: [ AFB ]), a registered closed‑end investment company, today announced earnings for the Fund's fourth fiscal quarter ended October 31, 2011.

Total net assets of the Fund* on October 31, 2011 were $651,419,558 as compared with $642,356,307 on July 31, 2011 and $656,699,238 on October 31, 2010.  On October 31, 2011, the net asset value per share of common stock was $14.26 based on 28,697,204 shares of common stock outstanding.

For the period August 1, 2011 through October 31, 2011, total net investment income was $7,424,463, or $0.26 per share of common stock.  The total net realized and unrealized gain was $5,657,073 or $0.20 per share of common stock for the same period.
