AKRON, Ohio, Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Met-Ed's residential electric customers still have time to sign up with FirstEnergy Solutions and save 10 percent off Met-Ed's current average residential electric generation rate of 9.10 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh).  By enrolling with FirstEnergy Solutions now, residents can lock in a fixed price of 8.19 cents per kWh through December 2012.

Residents who choose FirstEnergy Solutions as their electric generation supplier will continue to receive one bill and the same level of service from Met-Ed, and the utility will continue to deliver the electricity, maintain the poles and wires, and respond to power outages.
