Janus Launches Moderate Allocation Portfolio for Insurance Channel

DENVER--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Janus Capital Group Inc. (NYSE: JNS) today announced the launch of Janus Aspen Moderate Allocation Portfolio, which aims to provide investors with moderate growth through its investments in other Janus mutual funds. The portfolio seeks to invest in a diversified portfolio of underlying Janus mutual funds with a target allocation of approximately 60% stocks and 40% fixed-income instruments. The portfolio, which was launched on August 31, 2011, is managed by Dan Scherman, senior vice president and chief risk officer.

The Janus Aspen Moderate Allocation Portfolioa™s primary benchmark is the S&P 500 Index and the secondary benchmark is the Moderate Allocation Index, an internally calculated hypothetical combination of unmanaged indices that combines the total returns from the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 Index (40%), the Barclays Capital U.S. Aggregate Bond Index (40%), the MSCI EAFE® Index (18%) and the MSCI Emerging Markets (Free) Index (2%).
