Excel Trust Announces Public Follow-on Offering of 12.5 Million Shares of Common Stock
SAN DIEGO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Excel Trust, Inc. (NYSE:EXL), a retail focused real estate investment trust (REIT), announced today that it is commencing an underwritten public offering of 12.5 million shares of common stock. The Company has granted to the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 1.875 million shares within thirty days after the offering to cover over-allotments, if any. All shares are being offered by the Company.
The Company intends initially to use the net proceeds from this offering to fund a portion of the purchase price of The Promenade, to repay a portion of the outstanding indebtedness under its unsecured revolving credit facility, for future acquisitions and for other general corporate and working capital purposes.
Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital, KeyBanc Capital Markets and Wells Fargo Securities are joint book-running managers for the offering.
