Teche Holding Company is the only Louisiana bank included on this year's list. The group includes practically all different sizes and categories of Banks in America. Nearly 400 banks from throughout the US with $500 million or more in total assets were considered for the Honor Roll. This list is selected primarily on the basis of the bank's earning's record. Teche has maintained consistent earnings over the last decade even during the recent financial crisis. Teche was also one of few publicly traded banks in the southeast whose financial strength allowed them to decline TARP.

- No annual loss reported in net income per share before extraordinary items over the past 10 years.

- Consecutive increases in net income per-share before extraordinary items since 2009.
