SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2011) - Franklin Templeton Investments today announced that Michael Mahoney has assumed a new role with the firm as head of Internal and Digital Sales. Mahoney is responsible for overseeing and mentoring the firm's internal sales staff, and will also seek ways to enhance sales techniques to make them more salient in the digital age. He will work closely with Franklin Templeton's marketing and technology groups to continue to develop the firm's total relationship strategies. Mahoney will report to Dan O'Lear, executive vice president of U.S. Advisory Services for Franklin Templeton Distributors, Inc.
"Mike is an experienced external sales representative with a deep understanding of the needs of financial advisors and their clients," said O'Lear. "Bringing him 'inside' will greatly benefit our internal sales team by strengthening continuity between our internal and external wholesaling teams."
Mahoney has been with Franklin Templeton since 1993 and is a three-time recipient of the company's "Wholesaler of the Year" award. Prior to his new position, Mahoney was a senior vice president and divisional sales manager. He has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.
The divisional sales manager role previously held by Mahoney will be assumed by Jeffery Rose, who will now oversee the Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas sales territories. Rose joined Franklin Templeton in 2001 and previously served as a wholesaler covering Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and northern Minnesota. He is one of seven divisional sales managers reporting to Bob Geppner, senior vice president and national sales manager, who reports to O'Lear.
