Robert Fishbein named Chair of Committee of Annuity Insurers

NEWARK, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU) announced today that Vice President and Corporate Counsel Robert A. Fishbein has been named Chair of the Committee of Annuity Insurers. Fishbein has been serving as Vice Chair of the Committee since March of 2010.

The Committee of Annuity Insurers is a coalition of 32 of the largest issuers of annuity contracts in the nation and was formed in 1982 to address Federal legislative and regulatory issues relevant to the annuity industry. The Committeea™s member companies, which include Prudential, represent over two-thirds of the annuity business in the United States.

In his role as Chair, Fishbein will work with the Committee to develop federal policies regarding annuities. He has been an active participant in the Committee for more than 10 years, and has more than 20 years of industry experience. In his role at Prudential, Fishbein provides tax law guidance with respect to the development, marketing, sale and administration of life insurance, annuity, long-term care insurance, disability insurance and mutual fund products. Prior to joining Prudential in March of 1997, Fishbein was associated with McCarter & English, LLP in Newark, NJ and specialized in tax and estate planning matters. He is a frequent speaker on tax, estate planning and retirement topics and has written numerous articles on these subjects.
