Education Realty Trust Promotes Brevard and Johannesen
MEMPHIS, Tenn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Education Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE:EDR), a leader in the ownership, development and management of collegiate housing, today announced the promotions of Olan Brevard to senior vice president of acquisitions and Rhonda Johannesen to senior vice president of real estate development.

Brevarda™s primary responsibility will be to lead the companya™s growth through the acquisition of collegiate housing assets, which may also include the discriminatory disposition of assets from time to time that support the companya™s overall growth strategy.
aOlana™s leadership, positive attitude and organizational skills have made him the ago to guya™ for numerous important aspects of the companya™s business during his long tenure with Education Realty Trust,a said Thomas Trubiana, EDR executive vice president and chief investment officer.
Since 1977, Brevard has successfully served in both the property operations and real estate departments. He most recently served as vice president of real estate, where he monitored existing loans and led the companya™s refinancing and new loan activities.
Johannesen will continue her successful efforts to gain new development projects for the company, but will increase her leadership role in the companya™s real estate development department.
aRhonda brings a long tenure and variety of successful roles in collegiate housing management and development experience to the table. Since beginning her career as a property manager, she has worked her way up through several departments including property management, operations and food service at EDR and at other real estate development companies,a said Trubiana.
Johannesen rejoined the company in 2007 after working with GMH Associates, Inc., where she served as senior vice president of operations and was in charge of their entire collegiate housing portfolio. Most recently, as EDRa™s vice president of development, she has been instrumental in several high-profile projects, including the collegiate housing portion of a mixed-use development at the University of Connecticut Storrs Center; a high-rise development at the University of Texas-Austin; an award-winning development at the University of Colorado-Pueblo; and the companya™s first modular development at State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.
