Travelers encourages all commercial motor carriers to take steps now to prepare for the full implementation of CSA 2010. Carriers should first review their records through the FMCSA website and ensure that the information is correct. Addressing any and all safety problems now by instituting driver safety management best practices and continuing to provide driver education and training may help commercial motor carriers potentially avoid rule violations. Carriers should also talk with their independent insurance agent about the new safety requirements, what the changes to the law mean for their businesses and how their current insurance policies may need to be adjusted to meet their changing needs.
