ACB Energy Partners Constructing Cogeneration Facility at Marina Thermal Site

HAMMONTON, N.J.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--ACB Energy Partners today announced that it is constructing a 7.5 megawatt cogeneration plant at the Marina Thermal Facility in Atlantic City, NJ.

ACB Energy Partners is owned and operated by Energenic, a joint business venture between long-time business partners Marina Energy LLC, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries (NYSE: SJI), and DCO Energy LLC. The Marina Thermal facility, located on Absecon Boulevard, originally began operation in July 2003.

The new plant will provide electricity to the existing Marina Thermal Facility and will use steam produced from that process to heat water. Marina Thermal provides for all of the energy needs, including heating, chilling and electricity, to the Borgata Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, NJ. Cogeneration, also referred to as Combined Heat and Power, is one of the most efficient forms of energy production.

Start up of the $27 million project is set to begin in early December.
