W. R. Berkley Corporation Names J. Michael Foley President of Berkley Risk Administrators Company, LLC

GREENWICH, Conn.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE: WRB) today announced the appointment of J. Michael Foley as president of Berkley Risk Administrators Company, LLC (aBRACa). Mr. Foley succeeds BRAC founders Mark C. Tansey and Kenneth R. Hopkins. Each will continue in a consulting capacity with W. R. Berkley Corporation and its affiliates. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Foley has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined W. R. Berkley Corporation in 1995, and, most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Berkley Medical Excess Underwriters, LLC (aBerkleyMeda) since its inception in 2001. Prior to leading BerkleyMed, he founded Midwest Employers Casualty Company, another W. R. Berkley Corporation member company, serving as its first chief executive officer. Both BerkleyMed and Midwest Employers Casualty Company provide excess insurance and reinsurance coverages to self-insured entities in many of the same markets in which BRAC currently operates.

BRAC provides insurance program management services to a variety of organizations including self-insureds, captives, governmental entities, risk retention groups and insurance companies. It is also a nationwide third-party administrator of workersa™ compensation and property/liability claims, and the nationa™s second largest servicing carrier for workersa™ compensation assigned risk plans, now serving plans in 20 states.
