E1 Entertainment: E1 Entertainment, Here Films and Regent Releasing Announce U.S. and Canadian DVD Distribution Agreement

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - Leading independent supplier, E1 Entertainment and leading indie distributors Here Films and Regent Releasing announce today an agreement for E1 to be the exclusive DVD distributor of all Here Films and Regent Releasing titles in the United States and Canada through August 2012. The partnership marks another important milestone in E1's rapid growth, reinforcing the diversity of programs the company continues to offer and its increasing presence in the U.S. DVD market.

Under this new deal, E1 Entertainment will distribute feature films and television programs from Here Films in the U.S. and Canada. E1 will release an average of four titles per month, which will include home video releases of Here Films' U.S. theatrically released world cinema and LGBT-focused films, as well as TV series from Here! TV, a leading premium cable network offering programming that appeals to a gay and lesbian audience. The partnership deal takes effect immediately with the release of "Departures," the 2009 Academy Award® winner for Best Foreign Language Film.

Upcoming titles for 2010 also include Xavier Dolan's Cannes Fortnight winner and Canada's selection for Best Foreign Language Oscar, "I Killed My Mother," Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation of Mozart's opera, "The Magic Flute," Haim Tabakman's controversial Israeli drama, "Eyes Wide Open," and Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's Berlin Silver Bear winner and the Iranian selection for Best Foreign Language Oscar, "About Elly."
