AUSTIN, Texas--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Critical backup power systems inventor and manufacturer Active Power, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACPW), today announced it was named a winner in the Austin Business Journal Going Green Awards program, earning top honors in the program's Green Innovation category. The company was recognized for its energy efficient and green flywheel based UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system and how the technology continues to help its customers reduce their impact on the environment.
