DENVER--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--XeDAR Corporation (OTCBB: XDRC) provides homeland security and defense consulting and IT management-and-security services to the Departments of Homeland Security, Defense and others; national intelligence agencies; and the U.S. Military. It agreed today to Phase 1 of a multi-faceted Electronic Data and Records Management (EDRM) SmartBUY contract to upgrade records management and Call Center/Help Desk support for Camp Victory, the U.S. Military's primary installation in Iraq. XeDAR's work begins immediately and is expected to be completed in December, 2009; the total value of the initial contract is just over $864,000.

In addition to enhancing the existing data management software to include archival capability of any number of data systems (cataloguing and storage of historical records, including email, and efficient secure retrieval of those records), there are two other responsibilities: provide Tier 1 Call Center/Help Desk support for some 1,800 users and provide Tier 2 detailed technical support for the installation of the software package Rules Composer, which complements the Microsoft collaboration MOSS 2007 and Exchange 2007 software. XeDAR's role is to create, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the Rules Composer.

The installation, training, and service required to install the EDRM software will be performed by XeDAR's Point One subsidiary in Arlington, Virginia.

Data management software (EDRM), such as XeDAR will install and support for the U.S. Military, is fundamentally critical to the war effort in Iraq, to maintaining an efficient and safe base of operations there, and this contract reflects the critical nature of both data management and cyber-security in the overall strategy for American national security.

Dale Smith, Director of Point One, says, "this SmartBUY contract confirms the government's ongoing commitment to its twin priorities of success in Iraq and a secure American homeland. This contract also signals a new awareness that our prosperity depends on our military's having state-of-the-art, efficient, secure technology that enables fast and reliable access to critical information — which keeps our soldiers safe and our country protected. Whenever we see efficient electronic data management installed, it also results in savings for the taxpayers."

Point One's EDRM software is proven to significantly reduce paperwork and decrease storage and retrieval costs. The software also provides new real-time search capability for archived data and information, which further reduces costs by eliminating thousands of hours of manual search time. Efficiency like this could save any major government agency millions of dollars over the long term. It could also help save the lives of our military personnel.

Smith adds that secure records automation "facilitates communication in the complex world of military operations, and provides secure information to all those personnel involved. EDRM software is essential to our homeland security and potentially a tremendous ongoing opportunity for XeDAR in the future—a competitive advantage with formidable revenue opportunities."
